The International Chiropractic Scoliosis Board (ICSB) exists for, and is dedicated to, the following purposes:

  • To maintain and promote the chiropractic medicine as a viable, evidence-based treatment option for the care of patients with various types of scoliosis.
  • To foster intraprofessional dialogue among chiropractic physicians to continually develop, research, and implement non-surgical treatment options for scoliosis.
  • To promote the health, wellness, and quality of life of patients with scoliosis.
  • To foster interprofessional communication for instances of patient co-management, and to share a chiropractic physician’s unique educational perspective for the good of all scoliosis patients.
  • To serve as an authoritative governing body on appropriate treatment and management strategies for the chiropractic profession, by establishing a database of chiropractic scoliosis literature and creating treatment guidelines congruent with the chiropractic physician’s scope of practice.
  • To focus on the prevention and early identification of idiopathic scoliosis and to advance natural therapies and accentuate patient education on improving health and quality of life.
  • To promote a platform of specialized education for chiropractic physicians that allows them to become leaders in the treatment of scoliosis.
  • To provide educational seminars, rotations, and symposia for chiropractic physicians in the field of non-surgical scoliosis prevention and management.
  • To create, conduct and supervise diplomate programs of a minimum of 300 hours. These courses prepare chiropractic physicians to focus on patient assessment, identifying early signs of scoliosis, the prevention of scoliosis, the application of scoliosis diagnostics in a clinical setting, and the appropriate use of scoliosis rehabilitation methods.

Raising the Standards

The Chiropractic scoliosis experts of the future will provide a broad scope of treatment options that serve the needs of the patient and condition on a whole body basis and level, not just the spinal curvature.
